About the Role
The Fire Alarm Apprentice supports licensed Fire Alarm Technicians with installations, inspections, and service work while learning the fire and life safety trade. This role is designed as a long-term growth position with a clear path toward becoming a Fire Alarm Technician.
Key Responsibilities
• Assist technicians with installing fire alarm devices and panels
• Pull, route, and terminate low-voltage wiring
• Mount devices such as pull stations, smoke detectors, horn/strobes, and annunciators
• Assist with system testing and inspections under supervision
• Maintain tools, materials, and job site organization
• Learn to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and system layouts
• Follow company safety standards and job site protocols
• Perform NFPA annual inspections
• Good customer service skills

Required Skills & Experience
Required Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
• Ability to use basic hand and power tools
• Comfortable working on ladders and in construction environments
• Reliable transportation and strong attendance
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Preferred
• Prior construction, electrical, or low-voltage experience
• Interest in pursuing NICET certification
• Desire to grow into a long-term fire alarm technician role
