Job Description

Our client is seeking an experienced and dependable Test Engineer in our engineering laboratories. This role is responsible for providing test design, expert in instrumentation, automation and interfacing, with process partners to ensure high productivity and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in testing and troubleshooting water- and air-cooled commercial chillers, as well as maintaining a safe and efficient lab environment.

Key Responsibilities

Lab asset operations with high efficiency:

Test engineer will support the Key Water-cooled and Air-cooled chiller testing activity, with oversight of chiller performance measurement and analysis.
Prepare test design, planning, technical readiness and automation.
Own instrumentation and control system in chiller testing facility with chiller performance measurement and analysis.
Eliminate any instrumentation, calibration issues and assist management team in addressing any technical issues.
Proactively engage relevant vendors and process partners to keep instrumentation 100% operational.
Plan and execute lab certifications: AHRI, UL etc.
Make sure all the critical instrumentation is operating within limits and comply necessary standard.
Must be an advocate of safe workspace and champion to the corporations EHS policy.
KPIs, Reporting, Transparency and Analytics

Tracking around the test data. develop and maintain performance database for trend analysis and prediction.
Define, develop and maintain, real-time chiller performance analysis, as data is collected in the laboratory.
Process, SOP’s / WI development, Automation

Define, deploy new standards, test catalogues (reference for chiller setup, configuration) , a guide to efficient and optimized test measurement.
Overseas and supports troubleshooting for chillers and lab support systems.

This role pays between $70,000-110,000

Required Skills & Experience

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering.
3+ years HVAC industry experience.
2+ years of experience with flow, pressure, temperature measurement sensors and systems in relation to HVAC operation and support systems.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications

Performance or Factory Acceptance Testing experience for commercial HVAC equipment
Experience in UL508A and NEC compliance with electrical control cabinets and VFDs.
Hands on experience with LabVIEW, SCADA, closed loop automation systems.
Experience and general knowledge of hydronic pumping systems, Cooling Towers, Boilers, medium voltage industrial power supplies
Hands-on experience in manufacturing and production lines (building, wiring, brazing, testing chillers).
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and test instruments.
