Job Description

Insight Global is hiring a full-time Sr. Voip and Network ENgineer for a client in Cornelius, NC. We are seeking a highly capable engineer to own and support a distributed VoIP platform built on OpenSIPS, FreeSWITCH, and FusionPBX, along with the underlying network infrastructure.
This role requires someone who can troubleshoot issues end-to-end — across SIP signaling, media (RTP), and network layers — not just follow runbooks.

Day to Day Operations Include:
VoIP / SIP Platform
• Administer and optimize OpenSIPS (dispatcher, routing, health checks, clustering)
• Manage FreeSWITCH and FusionPBX environments (dialplans, gateways, registrations)
• Troubleshoot SIP and RTP issues (one-way audio, call failures, NAT issues)
• Analyze call flows using tools like Wireshark, tcpdump, or sngrep
Networking
• Configure and troubleshoot switches, routers, firewalls, and SD-WAN appliances
• Work with VLANs, routing, NAT, ACLs, and QoS
• Diagnose packet-level issues impacting SIP/RTP traffic
• Ensure reliable connectivity across multi-site environments
Systems
• Linux administration (Debian/Ubuntu)
• Manage iptables/firewall rules and persistence
• Work with MySQL-backed services
• Support high availability and clustered systems

Required Skills & Experience

• Strong hands-on experience with SIP and VoIP systems
• Experience with OpenSIPS or Kamailio
• Experience with FreeSWITCH and/or FusionPBX
• Solid networking background (routing, switching, firewalls)
• Ability to troubleshoot using packet captures and SIP traces

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with OpenSIPS clustering and replication
• Experience with SBCs or carrier integrations
• Familiarity with SIP reputation, call analytics, or telecom environments
