Job Description
This position will be assisting in the systems administration work for Wake County Fire & EMS. This involves supporting endpoint hardware, Computer Aided Dispatch hardware & automatic vehicle location hardware and vehicle gateways, as well as some ancillary support for reporting applications within various fire departments and EMS within Wake County. This position will have ongoing support duties as well as serving in special projects as assigned.
1. Serves as a point of contact and liaison on behalf of Wake County IT and Public Safety with various IT vendors.
2. Install and support CradlePoint mobile gateways.
3. Provide end user support, customer consultation for the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) and Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL) hardware and endpoint devices.
4. Provide set up and training support on hardware to end users and other support staff.
5. Assist in maintaining and deploying complex images.
6. Coordinate and manage the 24x7x365 endpoint device support for various hardware. Provide ancillary application support.
7. Install, test, and support all aspects of network connectivity for the endpoint devices, NetMotion & Cisco AnyConnect endpoint related VPN applications.
8. Provide support for local and network printers, multi-function devices for your customer base at various Wake County facilities. Provide basic support for audio visual equipment.
9. Perform routine technology refreshes on all supported hardware and applications.

Required Skills & Experience
Associate’s Degree with two (2) years of experience directly supporting end users and associated hardware
• Experience managing, administering, provisioning, and/or supporting CradlePoint gateways or similar devices such as Sierra Wireless gateways, etc.
• Experience with 12V line work within vehicles.
• Understanding of desktop operating systems, M365.
• Solid understanding of desktop computer hardware and peripherals.
• General knowledge of networking including TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, etc.
• Familiarity with VOIP.
• Verbal and written communication skills.
• Clean Driving Record and Drivers License

CompTIA/A+ and/or Network+ Certification
