Job Description
The Facilities & Maintenance Supervisor is a salaried role responsible for owning day-to-day building and equipment upkeep while coordinating all facility-related contractors and vendors. This person is expected to take initiative, drive projects with minimal oversight, and progressively build and lead an in-house maintenance team over time.
Key Responsibilities
· Serve as primary point of contact for all facility-related issues, ensuring the site is safe, compliant, and operational for production and office staff.
· Coordinate and oversee contractors and vendors (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, janitorial, landscaping, fire/life safety, security, etc.), including scope definition, scheduling, access, and quality verification.
· Solicit and review quotes, support contractor selection, and ensure work is completed on time, within budget, and to specification.
· Plan and schedule preventive maintenance for building systems and key equipment (i.e CNC Machines); maintain an accurate calendar and work order log or CMMS.
· Perform hands-on maintenance and minor repairs where appropriate (e.g., lighting, basic mechanical repairs, small building fixes) while using contractors for specialized or high-risk work.
· Inspect facilities regularly to identify issues, risks, and improvement opportunities, then develop action plans and drive them to completion.
· Own facility-related documentation, including maintenance records, vendor contracts, service reports, and compliance records (EHS, fire, inspections).
· Partner with leadership to define a facilities and maintenance roadmap, including staffing strategy, service levels, and capital improvement priorities.
· Over time, recruit, onboard, and supervise a small internal maintenance team, including technicians or custodial staff as the business grows.
· Support budgeting and cost control for facilities, including forecasting maintenance expenses, tracking spend, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
· Lead or support facility projects such as office or production moves, renovations, layout changes, and small construction projects, coordinating contractors and internal stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements; partner with EHS to address findings and implement corrective actions.
Work Environment and Expectations
· Primarily on-site role in a mixed office/industrial environment with regular walking, climbing ladders, and occasional lifting up to 50 pounds.
May require occasional evening or weekend work during contractor projects, shutdowns, or facility emergencies.

Required Skills & Experience
Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or associate degree in facilities, industrial maintenance, construction management, or related field preferred.
· 5+ years of experience in facilities, building maintenance, or industrial maintenance, including coordinating outside contractors; prior lead or informal supervisor experience strongly preferred.
· Demonstrated ability to own projects end-to-end, prioritize independently, and deliver results with limited direction.
· Experience with vendor management, basic contract review, and scheduling service work without impacting operations.
· Familiarity with building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire/life safety, access control) and safe work practices, with enough technical understanding to evaluate contractor work.
Working knowledge of maintenance planning tools or CMMS and basic proficiency with email, spreadsheets, and shared documents.

- Experience in the aerospace industry and/or within a heavily automated environment
- Experience with PLC's
