Job Description

By supporting the project and site management teams in planning, implementing, and monitoring EHS procedures and rules, reporting of relevant KPI’s and ensuring a continuous improvement process. The EHSMiP establishes the EHS management system for the project which meets internal, customer, regulatory, and business needs and oversees its implementation and monitors compliance. The EHSMiP works mainly from the office as part of the project management team, however (inter)national business trips to construction sites are necessary at times.

Responsibilities:
● Provide input for tender/bid phase with regard to EHS budget, opportunities and risks.
● Identify EHS related statutory and Customer requirements, rules & regulations and EHS aspects.
● Support project management to define EHS-related requirements and responsibilities to be integrated in Customers and Contractor’s agreements.
● Develop a project specific health and safety plan including an emergency response concept and an environmental management plan for the construction site.
● Support project management to ensure that required EHS-related permits, authorizations, certificates are available, and authorities have been notified as necessary.
● Provide regular EHS reports to the project and/or site manager to ensure full operational transparency.
● Support with the collation of monthly site environmental data to support internal project environmental performance reporting.
● Provide guidance and support to the EHS team at site.
● Ensure that requirements of the EHS plan are known by all relevant stakeholders.
● Ensure that risk assessments and defined mitigation measures are carried out to the highest standards and reviews EHS documentation provided by the Contractors.
● Evaluate contractors in terms of their EHS performance and feedback to project procurement manager.
● Ensure all incidents are investigated and recorded and appropriate measures are defined, implemented, and monitored.
● Escalate in case of non-compliance with legal, business or customer´s EHS requirements.
● Analyze statistics including near misses to identify trends and implement counter measures, as well as promote the sharing of best practices and documents lessons learned.

Required Skills & Experience

● Bachelor’s degree in environmental/chemical/safety engineering, business management, operations management, or similar, with related work experience
● Relevant OSHA Safety Certificates
● Minimum of 3 years work experience in the field of occupational safety and/or environmental management
● Knowledge of incident investigation and root cause analysis methodology
● Site related experience from industrial and/or construction business or similar.
● Knowledge of environmental laws and regulations preferred
● Working experience in global projects and/or interdisciplinary teams preferred
● Willingness to travel 20-30 %
