Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our core technology team. This role is central to a critical, long-term initiative to modernize our application landscape. The ideal candidate is a pragmatic and versatile engineer with a passion for transforming legacy systems into scalable, cloud-native solutions.
You will be responsible for analyzing, refactoring, and rewriting key monolithic applications, leveraging your deep expertise in both Java and Python. This is a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of software architecture, AI-driven development, and cloud engineering to make a lasting impact on our technology stack.
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyze complex legacy monolithic applications to identify and plan refactoring and migration strategies.
• Lead the hands-on development work to deconstruct legacy systems and rebuild them as modern, efficient microservices using Java and Python.
• Utilize our proprietary "Vibe" code transformation tool to accelerate the analysis and rewriting of old codebases.
• Integrate AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) into your daily workflow to enhance productivity, improve code quality, and speed up development cycles.
• Design, build, and deploy scalable, resilient applications on Amazon Web Services (AWS), utilizing services like EKS, Lambda, S3, and RDS.
• Champion software engineering best practices, including comprehensive automated testing, robust CI/CD pipelines, and clear documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with architects, product managers, and other engineers to define technical requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.

Required Skills & Experience
6-8 years of professional software development experience.
Deep, hands-on proficiency in both Java and Python within an enterprise environment.
Proven experience working with both legacy monolithic applications and modern microservice architectures.
Demonstrable fluency with AI coding assistants (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude) and the ability to articulate how they are used to improve your workflow.
Strong practical experience with core AWS services and cloud-native design principles.
A problem-solving mindset with a track record of successfully refactoring or migrating complex systems.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
