Job Description

Job Overview: Insight Global is seeking a Logistics and Distribution Manager for a large transportation client located in Charlotte, NC. As the Logistics and Distribution Manager, this individual will be responsible for managing and executing distribution processes in order to meet the railroad and rail partners demands. This role is within the Fleet Department of the end client and handles the operations and logistics relative to general merchandise fleets. We’re looking for an organized, independent individual to excel in this relationship-building role – as constant communication with internal stakeholders and railcar partners is required. This is a permanent, hybrid position (3x onsite/2x remote) located in Charlotte, NC.

Key Responsibilities:
• Manage and process external requests to relevant Fleet Management systems and data
• Ensure proper data flow across internal and external systems (UMLER) for car management
• Lead the coordination and tracking of all equipment orders
• Identify opportunities for improvements in fleet efficiency and equity across all pools
• Serve as the primary contact for internal and external customer inquiries and requests pertaining to the assigned equipment fleets

Required Skills & Experience

Must Haves:
• 5+ years working in a logistics coordination role – specifically supply chain planning, asset management, transportation logistics, or distribution management
• Self-starter, independent, and organized individual
• Strong communication – written and oral
• Excel proficiency – specifically VLookups and Pivot Tables

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Preferred Qualifications:
• Proven experience from the railroad/railcar industry
• SQL, PowerBI, Tableau
