Job Description
One of our largest pharmaceutical customers is seeing an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to join their team in Durham, NC. The I&C Engineer is responsible for ensuring the efficiency and operational reliability of the instrumentation and controls that support facility-wide equipment, and facility systems through effective Corrective and Preventive (CAPA) Maintenance and Calibration practices.
Responsibilities:
• Performs general instrumentation and controls troubleshooting, repairs, preventive and corrective maintenance to all site equipment, systems, process measurement and control, utility, laboratory, and bench-top instrumentation
• Performs calibrations to instrumentation and controls
• Follows standard procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP) quality standards
• Performs loop checks for new instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
• Assists and performs lock out tag out (LOTO) as required to complete I&C/Metrology activities
• Adheres to all safety requirements and follows safe work practices
• Notifies management or Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) when unsafe conditions or hazards are found
• Attends all required and safety and health training
• Supports site operations and emergency work orders during off-hours, as needed
Performs spare parts assessments, as required

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of I&C experience or similar field
• Experience with troubleshooting instrumentation and controls (Allen Bradley/Siemens PLCs)
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS), such as ProCalV5, Blue Mountain, Maximo, Infor EAM, etc.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field
• Pharmaceutical or Biotechnology experience
• Experience with Microsoft Office or other computer software
