Job Description

The IT Contract Specialist will serve as the lead for contract management, negotiations, monitoring, oversight and administration for IT hardware, software and service contracts. The Specialist will assist with the creation and development of RFPs, bids and agreements. Specialist will review and modify existing contracts and amendments to develop renewal options.
Review and negotiate software licenses as well as a variety of other contracts including vendor agreements, master service agreements, consultant agreements, etc. to ensure IT contracts, requirements are aligned to IT strategies, requirements, ad control mechanisms.
Review vendor proposals before final negotiations and provide negotiation suggestions to benefit the County.
Assist in the development of Request for Information (RFIs), Request for Proposal (RFPs) and business cases by providing technical risk assessments and IT contractual requirements.
Follow County Finance and procurement policies, process and procedure as related to vendor registration and requirements for doing business with Wake County.
Participate in the budget process, such as annual budget planning
Administrative Tasks when necessary

Required Skills & Experience

4+ years of experience in Contract Management (Preferred IT)
Basic understanding of IT product and services need, as well as general knowledge of changing technologies
Experience to develop edit, review, and revise IFBs, RFQs, and RFPs of varying complexity.
Experience in negotiating contracts
Working knowledge to ensure compliance with requirements of procurement laws and regulations for information technology and negotiation of contract terms and conditions.
