Job Description

Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Steam Turbine Engineer to join one of our large energy companies. This role involves providing technical leadership and engineering expertise for steam turbine systems across the Carolinas territory. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to work independently in a field-based environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide technical oversight and engineering support for steam turbine systems and related components.
Lead outage planning, estimation, and execution, ensuring alignment with reliability and maintenance goals.
Conduct root cause analyses, develop technical reports, and recommend process improvements.
Serve as the technical authority during planned and emergent outages, including on-site presence.
Collaborate with OEMs, vendors, planners, and internal teams to prioritize and schedule maintenance.
Monitor equipment health using analytical tools and historical data to guide maintenance strategies.
Support quality assurance at vendor shops and during field operations.
On-site technical oversight during outages and major maintenance events.
Quality assurance oversight at vendor facilities.
Maintain accurate technical documentation and records.
Analyze equipment trends and performance data to influence maintenance planning.
Field-based role with travel across the Indiana/Midwest region

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
Minimum 6 years of relevant engineering experience
Proficiency in OSI PI Vision (or PI Process Book) and Microsoft Office Suite
Ability to manage multiple projects across various locations
Experience in outage planning and execution
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Masters Degree in Engineering (may substitute for B.S. degree)
Professional Engineer (PE) license (may be required by some departments)
