Job Description

The main function of a Support Engineer is to provide technical assistance to computer system users. A typical Support Engineer is responsible for answering questions or resolving computer problems for clients in person, via telephone or from a remote location.



Job Responsibilities:

* Answer user inquiries regarding computer software or hardware operation to resolve problems, typically of a lower complexity

* May install software or perform hardware testing remotely

* Enter commands and observe system functioning to verify correct operations and detect errors

* Maintain records of daily data communication transactions, problems and remedial actions taken, or installation activities

* Read technical manuals, confer with users, or conduct computer diagnostics to investigate and resolve problems or to provide technical assistance and support

Required Skills & Experience

Years of Experience Required: 4-8+ overall years of experience in the field.
Degrees or certifications required: none required. experience is more valued. Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate or equivalent are a plus.
Disqualifiers: Candidates with only admin experience but no customer support role experience will not be eligible for the role. Having admin experience is okay but they would also need to have customer support role experience.
Best vs. Average: The ideal resume would contain deep knowledge and experience of security (experience in a cybersecurity domain) and/or troubleshooting cloud applications. either of these would be a big advantage. Proficiency in
Azure, Defender for cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Sentinel, Log Analytics support not required but can be advantageous
Performance Indicators: Performance will be assessed based on quality of work

Top 3 Hard Skills Required + Years of Experience
1. Minimum 5+ years experience in a prior tech support role
2. Minimum 3+years experience with working Azure Cloud knowledge and at minimum one of the following; Defender for cloud, Defender for Endpoint, Sentinel, Log Analytics.
3. Minimum 5+ years experience with troubleshooting
