Job Description

Job Summary: The Power Platform Governance Specialist will be responsible for overseeing the governance, security, and administration of the Microsoft Power Platform. This role involves developing and implementing best practices, standard operating procedures, and policies to ensure the effective and secure use of the Power Platform across various state agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
Governance and Compliance:
Develop and enforce governance policies and best practices for the Power Platform.
Ensure compliance with NC DIT policies and government regulations designed to protect confidential and sensitive information.
Manage tenant-wide settings, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) policies, conditional access, and cross-tenant isolation.
Environment Management:
Oversee the creation and management of Power Platform environments, including development, test, and production environments.
Implement environment-specific DLP policies and ensure proper security configurations.
Monitor and manage environment usage and capacity.
Security and Auditing:
Implement and manage security roles, business units, and field-level security within the Power Platform.
Enable and define retention and access policies for auditing within environments.
Conduct regular audits to ensure compliance with security policies and identify potential risks.
Support and Training:
Provide guidance and support to state agencies in developing and maintaining Power Platform applications.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to educate users on best practices and governance policies.
Collaborate with the NC DIT Support Desk to address technical issues and provide user support.
Automation and Application Management:
Promote the use of Power Automate to streamline business processes and improve efficiency.
Manage the application lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of Power Platform applications.
Implement change control processes to ensure smooth updates and upgrades.
Community and Collaboration:
Foster a community of practice for Power Platform users across state agencies.
Organize quarterly meetings and maintain a Power Platform channel for knowledge sharing and collaboration.
Encourage the adoption of the Power Platform to drive operational excellence and innovation.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Proven experience in managing and governing the Microsoft Power Platform.
Strong understanding of Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI, and related technologies.
Knowledge of security and compliance standards, including DLP policies and conditional access.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to conduct training sessions and provide user support.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience working in a government or public sector environment.
Certifications in Microsoft Power Platform or related technologies.
Familiarity with Azure services and integration options.
