Job Description

Insight Global is looking for 3 application support engineers to join an existing team for a large financial institution in Charlotte, NC. These candidates are going to be supporting a suite of applications that each use a different technology in java. The applications are data production and privacy (more focused on data protection.) All these applications are customized within the company. These individuals will only be supporting and NOT coding. They will be supporting level 1 and level 2 functions- responding to alerts and driving incident triages. They will be responsible for fixing issues as they arise using different diagnostic tools to get a gag on the health of the systems, function of application servers and escalating to the development team as needed. This is not infrastructure related; it is IT application support only. This team is also inheriting a business intelligence platform so having some knowledge with any BI tool would be helpful.
Other responsibilities:
Running the day-to-day operations of the technology platform (Java, MS SQL Server, Oracle, Unix, Dynatrace or App Dynamics)
Identifies possible production issues, creates incident tickets, enhancements and/or problem tickets in ticket tracking system, and communicates effectively with development and internal business operations teams.
Demonstrate flexibility, navigate ambiguity, and quickly establish credibility among technical peers
Experience troubleshooting, analysis, research and resolution using advanced query, programming skills, conduct root cause analysis, and identify mitigations/risk
Experience with real-time restoration, triaging of issues impacting technical services (application/infrastructure) to bank customers and partners in a timely manner while keeping partners advised of significant progress or challenges during the restoration period
Support of on-call rotation for off-hours and weekend support as needed.

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of relevant IT experience (Production Support, ITIL, Release Support, Technical Implementations, or equivalent)
Level 1 and Level 2 App support experience
Proven knowledge in some or all of the following: Java/J2EE Core Java, JDBC, EJB, Java Web Services
Experience in Server-side technologies - SOAP/Restful services, XML/XSLT, XML, JDBC, AOP, MQ Micro Services MuleSoft.
Incident Management AND Problem Management background
Experience or knowledge on monitoring tools- App Dynamics OR Dynatrace OR Splunk
Knowledge of event driven and schedule driven batch processes
Business Intelligence platform experience
Oracle database (or SQL)

MicroStrategy knowledge
