Insight Global is looking for a Fiber Communications' Designer for one of our engineering consultant firms in the Charlotte, NC area. This position requires the ability to operate a computer-aided drafting (CAD) system to create drawings. The employee will undergo initial training to learn the concepts and processes for various client projects. This employee will be in charge of creating design schematics, construction drawings, and other details as required for the client. They will be reviewing and extracting data/information from field notes and making necessary changes or updates to design layouts. These designers will report onsite 5 days a week in the Charlotte office. Please see below for some day to day duties.
Create detailed design schematics, construction drawings, and other details as required for various clients, utilizing client records/databases and field notes/information.
Be able to read and understand client design standards and records and apply them to new projects.
Utilize CAD software, such as AutoCAD, MicroStation, and/or other proprietary client-specific CAD software to create project drawings.
Be able to extract data and information from field notes and translate them to a project design.
Create project wrap-up documents and reports, as needed for project submission to the client.
Collaborate with fellow designers and the field team on various project initiatives, tools, and processes as related to each project/client.

- 1+ yrs of experience utilizing CAD software (AutoCAD, MicroStation, or Solidworks)
Strong communication
- Be able to read and understand client design standards and records.
- Proficient within Microsoft suites (word, excel, etc)
