An Insight Global client is seeking a well-qualified candidate to perform as the Security Specialist/Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) at its Research Triangle Park, NC campus. The candidate will be a security focal point for addressing industrial and personnel security related matters with emphasis on problem-solving and customer interaction. The candidate will assist the Security Team in development, implementation, updating, and monitoring of corporate security policies and the National Industrial Security Program (NISP) requirements. The candidate must have TS/SCI Security Clearance with CIPG. Having an FSPG is a plus.
The duties of the Security Specialist/AFSO shall include, but are not limited to:
- Implementing and maintaining a highly effective security program built on Government and Corporate guidance.
- Maintaining a high degree of organizational and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
- Must be able to work independently and partner with other functional organizations.
- Interact directly with the Industrial Security team and program personnel in the management of assigned responsibilities.
- Responsible for assisting the Industrial Security team in performing security vulnerability assessments, self-inspections, and escorting.
- Provide briefings, facilitate various security trainings and issue written guidance to employees, its consultants, and subcontractors.
- Solid understanding of Federal Investigative Standards, the clearance adjudication process, SEAD Adjudicative Guidelines and security processing under the 32 CFR Part 117 NISPOM Rule.
- Prepare and maintain official records auditable by US Government representatives. This includes data reconciliation, onboarding and offboarding accesses and handling security indoctrinations and debriefings.
- Handle the safeguarding of classified information in accordance with applicable government security requirements.
- Perform citizenship validation and assist the Industrial Security team in supporting the required Federal Area Access Program.
- Assist the Industrial Security team in performing escorts of the secure spaces as needed. Process personnel for security clearance investigations using DISS and other relevant applications as needed.
= Process incoming and outgoing Visit Requests.
Perform physical security inspections of various secure spaces.
- Brief employees on their responsibilities for protecting, handling, transmitting, and storing National Security Information.
- Maintain various SOPs by DoD and other customers as required.
- Assist the Industrial Security team in performing administrative inquiries concerning adverse information and security incidents.

- Proven knowledge of DISS, eAPP, and other security databases.
- Understanding and familiarity of DD-254 implementation requirements.
- Assist the Industrial Security team in overseeing CUI responsibilities to assigned programs.
- Bachelors degree in a related area or equivalent experience (2+ years).
- Prefer all applicants to have taken the FSO Program Management for Possessing Facilities through CDSE within the past 2 years.
- Applicants with experience using Security Control is a plus.
