Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Data Analyst for a large financial services client. This is a business data analyst role, not a technology position. The person in this role must have experience as a business data analyst. The role involves reviewing and understanding business requirements, deeply analyzing, slicing and dicing data to determine and document patterns and anomalies with the ability to assess whether the provided data meets the business requirements. The person in the role must be comfortable working independently and proactively to coordinate with our internal business teams (customers) and internal data providers to seek clarification and resolution when data provided does not meet the business requirements. The person in this role must also have excellent communication skills, seek to understand the perspective of meeting participants when in meetings, speak up to drive conversations and be able to form good relationships with our internal partners.

Big picture of the role and project:

In current state, derivative data are sourced through a system which is being scheduled for decommission and a new system with better and more complete data will be sourced to fulfill the implementation of approximately 10 regulatory reports. In current state most of these reports are done manually or within a legacy system on path for decommission.

As a data analyst on this team, you will be responsible for some portion of the business attribute requirements, working with the new data to evaluate whether it meets the business requirements. This analysis involves using SQL within Toad tools. In addition to the analysis, you will be responsible for documenting the transformations required to fulfil the business data attribute requirements. For example, the new data source provide may provide 3 fields to meet the business attribute with specific rules for use. Your job would be to not only use SQL to validate the transformation rules, but to then write the SQL to perform that transformation in a sandbox environment and then write up specifications for our technology partners to use for development. You will have plenty of people around for questions, but there is also an expectation that you will

do due diligence and research as a first step.
