Job Description

Insight Global's client is looking for an Estimator to join their team in Raleigh, NC. The client is a full-service design and build company specializing in power system design and installation. They specialize on Emergency Standby Power Systems with Engine Generators, Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) equipment, Lightning Protection and Grounding systems for various federal government projects. Their projects range between 18 - 24 months and take them all over the country. This position will be in the main office in Raleigh, North Carolina while supporting projects at various project sites located across the continental U.S., Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other U.S. territories. Some travel is required for pre-bid meetings and occasionally throughout the project's duration.

The Estimator will be responsible for managing multiple estimates involving electrical power system installations and associated construction.
Responsibilities:
- Develop reliable total project cost estimates
- Perform material take-offs from construction drawings and scope of work
- Solicit material and subcontractor pricing requests
- Analyze material and subcontractor pricing for scope coverage and correctness
- Input take-off counts into computer utilizing estimating software and all available take-off tools
- Determine basic material requirements from electrical technical specifications
- Evaluation of labor risk factors including but not limited to location, weather, labor availability, installation difficulty, and scheduling
- Set-up breakdowns, update labor, expenses and final pricing
- Record information, clarifications and any items of risk discovered during take-off and document review that may be pertinent to the scope and clarification portion of the proposal
- Navigate through the National Electrical Code for specific references and utilize table applicable to take-offs
- Prepare proposal documents

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelors degree in engineering, construction management or like field preferred
- 3+ years of electrical estimating experience for commercial/construction projects
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Accubid
- Ability to travel up to 10%
- Familiarity and working knowledge of UL, NEMA, OSHA and NEC standards
- Ability to make independent decisions in planning, organizing and coordinating to develop solutions to complex problems
- Interpret and understand project requirements
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
