Insight Global is looking for a Database Administrator with extensive experience to join one of our large manufacturing clients in Monroe, NC. This position requires to be on-site five days a week and an occasional after-hours on call. This person will troubleshoot database performance, provide root cause analysis and manage index usage. This individual will also work on query optimization and tuning using Query Store, Extended Events and execution plan analysis. This person will be joining a 10 person team that consists of another DBA, business analysts, developers and a hardware technician. This person will work in tandem with the other DBA to maintain the day-to-day of the role while also tackling projects.

Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Basic understanding of SQL and relational database concepts.
Experience with SQL Server, MySQL, or other database management systems.
Experience with SQL Development
( Develop, implement, and optimize SQL queries and stored procedures.)
Assist in the design and maintenance of database systems to ensure their stability, reliability, and performance.
* Microsoft data platform administration (SQL Server, SQL Server Reporting Services, SQL Server Integration Services, Azure SQL DB or Managed Instances)
* Strong documentation skills with business requirements and testing applications
* Strong decision making, priority setting and planning skills
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Knowledge of other RDBMS (PostgreSQL, Azure ComosDB or equivalent technology)
* Experience with SQL Server High Availability and Disaster Recovery (Failover Cluster Instances, Always-On Availability Groups, Log Shipping)
* Knowledge of modern security practices (zero-trust security, Oauth 2.0, OIDC) and how to best comply (Transparent data encryption, installing TLS/SSL certificates and row-level security options)
* Programming experience in Microsoft environments
* After Hours On-Call Support (supporting hardware and software needs in the manufacturing plants)
