Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Data Engineer for a large company based out of Charlotte, NC. This person will be working on a green field implementation and responsible for migrating current data to AWS. This team is working towards enhancements in machine learning and artificial intelligence, so a data scientist background would be preferred. This person needs to be proficient in at least one programming language, however python is preferred as it is the main language they are using currently. This person will also have data analyst responsibilities including reporting in Power BI or Tableau. This person will need to have strong knowledge in SQL development and querying. We are looking for a problem solver and someone who has a passion for data engineering.

Required Skills & Experience

Strong Data Engineering experience

Experience doing a cloud implementation project -- preferably AWS

Background in Data Science -- someone who has exposure to Machine Learning / AI

Expertise in at least one programming language (Python, Java, Spark) preferably Python

Strong knowledge on cloud migrations -- preferably AWS

Experience with reporting tools for data analysis -- Power BI, Tableau

Experience with designing and building processes with large, complex data sets from multiple data sources

Strong SQL knowledge and ability to write complex queries

Experience visualizing business insights with MS Power BI or other data visualization tools preferred

Passion for projects and initiative problem solver
