Summary
This position will configure and coordinate the installation and troubleshooting of new network devices which will be installed to replace older equipment. This may include after hours maintenance and non-standard schedules depending on the maintenance impacts of key locations. This position will perform troubleshooting on new deployments, provide after install assistance, and coordinate the repair of broken and warrantied technology devices insuring that devices are configured to City of Charlotte standards from a centralized location.
Job Duties:
Configure new Aruba infrastructure to replace existing Cisco network infrastructure throughout the project.
Conduct change control planning, coordination and execution of all tasks required during site upgrades.
Provide technical support in resolving all issues associated with site upgrades.
Development of automation to improve install efficiency and project timelines.
Coordinate with internal stake holders on project tasks to ensure minimal downtime and resource planning for testing dependent applications.
Use ticketing system to track all deployments and document devices.
Configure technology devices using the City of Charlottes standards (i.e. operating system, software) and enroll equipment in the proper management system,
Assist in decommission and surplus technology devices.
Assist with inventory procedures and audits.
Ability to work overhead and on a ladder for lightweight Access point installation.
Must be able to work efficiently, expeditiously and independently with limited supervision.
Perform other duties as assigned.
