As the Manager of Building Automation Systems, you will have responsibility to stand up the team of control technicians and lead them in expanding and maintaining the building automation systems. You will oversee all aspects of the design, installation, commissioning, and operation of the systems. You will also apply your technical expertise, communication and negotiation skills, and in-depth knowledge of building automation systems, HVAC systems, building construction, and contracting to solve problems and ensure quality and efficiency.
Day to Day Responsibility Breakdown:
* BAS Strategy -- 40%
o Create and maintain all department processes, controls, and best practices
o Keep in touch with CRE team members, professional organizations, and vendors to stay updated on industry standards and trends
o Assist with forecasting system growth and infrastructure requirements by working with department leaders and managers
o Lead hardware & software risk management and participates in audits
* Managerial Functions -- 20%
o Sets and monitors company and department goals
o Adjust BAS policies, procedures, and efficiencies as needed
o Oversee the performance, training, and evaluation of staff
o Lead system engineers, programmers, and control technicians
* Vendor Management -- 20%
o Improve vendor relationships to enhance service, pricing, and market insight
o Understand vendor product strategies and service offerings and lead bidding processes for new vendors
o Develop methods to manage and measure vendor performance
* Project Management -- 15%
o Assist/manage BAS scope projects of varying complexity for the department
o Assess facility needs, obtain quotes for work, create status reports, and other project-related tasks
o Review and update capital plans for major BAS projects
* Reporting -- 5%
o Responsible for reporting on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis

Minimum 4 years' experience with people management
Knowledge or certification in Distech, Niagara, Honeywell, and/or Allerton Controls.
Must know how to read, design, build, manage, install, commission, and decommission the systems
Experience building out policies and procedures to stand up a new program.
Ability to travel up to 30%.
