Job Description

The Manager, Fleet and Property Tax is responsible for the preparation and filing of all property tax filings, federal form 2290 filings, federal/state/local property and fleet tax payments using the appropriate tax and non-tax software platforms. This position also aids in the responsibility to ensure that all Company vehicles are properly tagged and titled to legally operate on all US roadways. The Manager, Fleet and Property Tax is also responsible for working with the Sr. Manager, Property and Fleet Tax and/or Director, Property Tax Compliance concerning property and fleet tax audits, tax appeals/assessments, economic incentive benefits, and budgets associated with property tax and fleet compliance.

Duties & Responsibilities:
- Responsible for preparing accounting journal entries, account analysis and ensuring budgets for forgoing functions (property tax and tag/titling) is complete and accurate.
- Prepare, file, and manage the process for property tax compliance and other property tax matters (returns, payments, notices, assessments, etc.), assists in pursuing economic incentive opportunities, and has acquired knowledge in tax and non-tax ERP systems such as PTMS and CONA
- Ensures all property tax payments are made timely.
Manages under the supervision of Sr. Manager, Property and Fleet Tax and/or Director, Property Tax and Compliance all relevant activities to ensure all Company vans, pickups, tractors, and trailers (total assets of approx. 9,200) are properly tagged and titled to operate on U.S. highways by maintaining appropriate communication and collaboration with field personnel.
- Acquired knowledge, understanding and utilization of ERP systems and other applicable state DMV software.
- Administers annual IRP filings, Federal Highway Use Tax returns and related payments.
- Assists Senior Management with Property Tax and Compliance any fleet tax audits and appeals/assessments, as well as assisting on property tax economic incentives ongoing work associated with new facilities and/or production lines.
- Responsible for continuous process improvements associated with property tax and vehicle tag/titling/registrations.

Required Skills & Experience

- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience
- Knowledge acquired through 1-5 years of experience within property tax
- Excellent written and verbal communication

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration preferred
