Insight Global is looking for a Freight Manager for one of our large distribution clients to sit in Charlotte, NC. This person will act as the main point of contact in the freight distribution space. This role will be primarily responsible for overseeing the transportation and logistics of the clients goods. This will require an overall understanding of transportation management. This individual will be coordinating the movement of goods via various modes of transportation, such as trucks, trains, and ships. They will be primarily reviewing the transportation schedule for upcoming shipments. Ensure that all shipments are on track for a timely delivery. Contact carriers and transportation providers to confirm pickup and delivery times, discuss any special requirements, and ensure all necessary documentation is in order. Communication is key as this person will be responsible for interacting with all parties involved for shipments (Providers, carriers, and consignee).
- 5+ years of experience handling freight shipments within the distribution Industry.
- Proficiency in data analysis and the use of Transportation Management Systems (TMS) to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve efficiencies.
- Experience with Inbound and Outbound Shipping.
- Experience creating/building freight lanes to help with cost cutting and effeciences.
- An in-depth knowledge of logistics and supply chain management, including transportation modes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Experience in budgeting and cost control to minimize transportation expenses while maintaining quality service.
