Job Description
A client of ours is seeking a network engineer to join our IT department and support our network infrastructure across various city facilities and services. You will be responsible for designing, installing, and maintaining network devices, servers, and applications that meet the citys needs for performance, security, and compliance.
Responsibilities:
Configure, troubleshoot, and monitor Cisco routers and switches, Palo Alto firewalls, and other network devices
Implement and maintain network security policies and procedures
Perform network upgrades, migrations, and expansions as needed
Support fiber optic cabling installation and testing
Provide technical support and guidance to end-users and other IT staff
Document network configurations, changes, and issues
Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of experience as a network engineer or similar role
Experience with Palo Alto firewalls and network security best practices
Experience with fiber optic cabling installation and testing
Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, VPN, VLAN, and other network protocols
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Bachelors degree in computer science, engineering, or related field
Good communication and teamwork skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
CCNA or CCNP
An Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR)
