Job Description
Insight Global is looking to hire on a Manager of Logistics & Supply Chain Optimization position in the Charlotte, NC area for a large building materials manufacturing company.
MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (not all inclusive):
- Gather data, analyze information and develop supply chain models to identify opportunities and drive efficiencies within logistics and supply chain.
- Own Network Analysis to include Inventory and Sourcing Strategies
- Develop demand and supply sourcing optimization models, using linear programming techniques [Frontline Solver / other tools], to solve for lowest delivered cost, highest profit, etc.
- Work with Plants to ensure full use and understanding of inventory optimization features within SAP [identify stock items, perform ABC analysis, set minimums, maximums, minimum run lengths for all stock items in SAP MM].
- Work with demand management, customer service, logistics, regional network supply planners, and plants on monitoring inventory turns, and lead focused inventory turn improvement efforts.
- Work with demand management, customer service, plants, and logistics on setting, measuring, and improving customer service levels / fill rates
- Participate in Logistics, Inventory and Supply Planning processes.
- Generate monthly key metrics for key logistics and supply chain including average length of haul, on time delivery, freight cost per MSF, inventory turns, etc. using SAP Business intelligence tools
- Participate in design and improvement of future [to be] logistics and supply chain analytics/metrics, including alerts and exception reporting, dashboards in SAP
- Work with carrier partners to identify and correct issues with shipment status tracking, carrier e-link process, and EDI transaction sets implemented in SAP.
- Create compelling logistics and supply chain presentations to enhance decision making capabilities throughout the company
Required Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting logistics and supply chain LOB's
- Supply chain network design experience
- Experience with alteryx, snowflake, PowerBI, or Tableau
- Experience with Llamasoft or Blue Yonder
- Strong passion for answering complex business questions using rigorous data analysis
- Statistical and financial modeling experience
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with SAP or another major ERP system
- Implementation and support experience with major Transportation Management System
