DAY TO DAY
The Recon Control Team's goal is to support the Global Accounting and Reconciliation organization by identifying and remediating risks in the organization, improving and standardizing reconciliation processes globally, and assessing issues for impact to business processes, controls and strategies. This individual works with the team and provides input to produce quality audit related support across the global reconciliations space while exercising critical thinking and judgment to effectively influence the control environment.
The candidate will assume the following responsibilities:
- Perform a variety of quality control functions that support data quality in reconciliation tools, test for compliance with department standards, and identify potential risks
o Conduct ad-hoc data analysis and research
- Document audit requests and coordinate across multiple teams for completion
- Participate and collaborate in projects, such as investigating potential risk issues, implementing new controls, and automating processes/reports
- Have daily interaction with other lines of business within Operations, Technology, and Risk in the course of BAU work
- Gain an understanding of accounting and reconciliation policy and trade flow for a wide variety of Global Markets products
- Learn a variety of reconciliation systems, methods of reconciliation, and understand the ecosystem of ledgers and subledgers in Global Markets
Required Skills & Experience
MUST HAVE
- Must have an accounting/reconciliations background
- Strong understanding of Microsoft Excel (V-Lookups, SUMIF's, CONCAT's, etc)
o Ability to work with large data sets is critical
- Strong interpersonal, leadership and communication skills
- Strong analytical skills and ability to analyze large amounts of data and turn it into usable information
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines with attention to detail
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to effectively interact with diverse teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
PLUS
- 3+ years in Audit, Risk, Compliance experience in Financial Institutions or equivalent experience in quality assurance/quality control
- Strong understanding of the risk framework and processes, risks and control environment
- Intermediate analytical / data analytics skills (Tableau, Microsoft Vizio, PowerQuery)
