Insight Global is looking for a Lead Buyer/Procurement Specialist for one of our large industrial manufacturing clients. This role is responsible for spearheading and maintaining a reliable supply chain and supporting operations of all product lines. This person should have demonstrated experience in vendor relations/management and will excel in negotiating strategies for improving spend, evaluating product quality and lines, strategic planning, and display excellent partnership to internal cross functional teams. Ideal candidates will come from Industrial Manufacturing backgrounds and be eager to take on new challenges to build with a rapidly growing company.
Responsibilities --
Manage strong vendor relationships and provide liaison services between internal stakeholders and suppliers
Formalize strategic planning and procurement procedures for continuous process improvement
Research and vet ideal vendors and parts/lines; advise cost effectivity and best quality alternatives as necessary
Negotiate cost and ensure spending aligns with organizational goals
Own the inventory process, including stock level/inventory cycle count, warehouse safety standards, etc.
Continuously maintain a wide range of parts/product knowledge
Assist as needed in shipping and receiving tasks, unloading, staging, etc.
Background and proficient competency in industrial manufacturing industry/processes
Strong experience maintaining vendor relationships in a procurement/buyer role
Ability to execute strategic planning at a high level between cross-functional teams
Effective negotiation and communication skills
Basic understanding of contract terms and agreements
Ability to utilize inventory management and Infor LN ERP/adjacent SAP systems to full capacity
Comfort supporting and collaborating with high-level management
Specific product knowledge with air compressors or HVAC components or controls
Specific experience with Infor ERP LN
