Insight Global is looking for a data curator to sit remotely for a large pharmaceutical company. This person will be joining the Research and Preclinical Development IT team. The Data Curator will be responsible for ensuring that Research and Preclinical Development data is maintained and curated using a consistent vocabulary and data format. The Data Curator will be working with research scientists, scientific business analysts, and R&pD-IT technical leads. On a daily basis they will assist them in curating data directly from labs for entry into the database systems. The data curator will correct data entry errors within the data systems, identifying and getting new data to add into databases and collaborating with labs for the purpose of gathering more information to be included in databases. They will also be reviewing submissions to databases for quality and relevancy; abstracting information in the required formats, correcting wrongly entered data or data entries that require changes due to renaming or migration to a new system. Lastly, the data curator will be ensuring data integrity by maintaining a common vocabulary and ontology across research. The ideal candidate will come from a biology background and have strong curation expertise, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.
