Insight Global is looking for an Application Support Analyst to join one of our largest financial service clients for a position that will be in their NYC office, three times a week onsite and two days remote. This individuals in this role will join a current team of 2 in the US and an additional team of 16 in Bangalore India. This person's daily responsibilities will be 50% on troubleshooting tickets that are coming in regarding issues that users are currently experiencing from the applications and the other 50% spent on problem solving and finding ways to reduce support time by perhaps writing a script or command instead of having to manually do this and they will do this by spending time looking at logs of issues in the past. The groups current tech stack is Java microservices running on Linux boxes, so the ideal candidate should know how to read logs generated by Java applications. The current applications in this environment are all java based with microservices on 36 machines, Linux based systems and a company specific tool that is based in Microsoft word for looking at the logs to decipher the issues.
-2-3+ years of recent hands-on experience with application support
-Ability to understand a Linux command
-Java background with potentially search engine domain experience or supporting distributed systems
-Excellent written and verbal skills as they will be interacting with business users
-Financial services background
