Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Process Engineer/Technical Coordinator for a leading biotechnology client. This senior-level consultant will play a critical role supporting a high-profile vivarium project, acting as the technical authority during construction, equipment delivery, and installation. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in biopharma lab environments, complex equipment systems, and MEP infrastructure, with a hands-on approach to ensuring successful execution in the field. This individual will partner closely with project leadership to troubleshoot issues, coordinate across vendors and contractors, and ensure that all systems are installed and operating in alignment with regulatory and operational requirements. This is a highly visible role requiring extensive experience, technical depth, and the ability to operate effectively “in the weeds” on complex capital projects. This is a 12 month contract with likely extensions, onsite in Tarrytown, NY, and has a pay range of $110-115/hr.

Day-to-Day:
• Act as a technical SME supporting a major vivarium project
• Serve as the onsite technical lead ensuring proper installation of complex equipment
• Work closely with contractors, vendors, and engineering teams to resolve technical issues
• Provide hands-on oversight during construction, installation, and commissioning phases
• Validate that equipment, utilities, and systems meet operational and regulatory standards
• Troubleshoot field issues related to MEP systems and lab/vivarium equipment
• Support broader portfolio initiatives alongside senior leadership
• Drive issue resolution and ensure projects stay aligned with schedule, quality, and performance goals

Required Skills & Experience

• 15–20+ years of experience in ground-up construction, engineering, or technical project delivery
• Process engineering/manufacturing background with experience defining equipment needs and ensuring infrastructure and regulatory compliance
○ Troubleshooting during equipment install, commissioning, and integration
• Strong background in biopharma / life sciences environments (REQUIRED)
• Deep expertise with lab equipment and infrastructure, especially:
○ Vivarium systems
○ Lab equipment
○ Bench/compliance equipment
• Extensive knowledge of MEP systems tied to lab & vivarium environments
• Experience working with contractors, vendors, and engineering partners
• Ability to support large, complex technical capital projects at a detailed level

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience working with CRB or similar process engineering / design-build firms
• Background in process engineering (manufacturing or lab environments)
