Job Description
The Senior Systems Engineer is the highest technical authority for IT infrastructure, responsible for defining standards, guiding architecture decisions, and resolving the most complex or high-impact issues across on‑prem and cloud environments. Reporting to the Sr. Director of IT Infrastructure, this role blends deep hands-on expertise with strategic leadership.
Key Responsibilities
• Act as enterprise-wide SME for infrastructure platforms (on‑prem, hybrid, and cloud; AWS preferred)
• Define and govern technical standards, architectures, and engineering best practices
• Lead complex incident response, root-cause analysis, and senior-level escalations
• Design, implement, and support major infrastructure initiatives end to end
• Drive automation, observability, configuration management, and IaC adoption
• Advise on cloud, security, networking, and systems modernization efforts
• Mentor engineers and analysts; improve team capability through documentation and runbooks
• Partner with stakeholders to translate business needs into reliable, secure technical solutions
• Identify technical debt and systemic risks; drive remediation and continuous improvement
Maintain detailed architecture diagrams, service maps, and operational documentation

Required Skills & Experience
• 10–12 years in enterprise IT infrastructure (on‑prem, virtualized, and cloud)
• Advanced expertise in Windows Server, Active Directory, VMware, Exchange, Office 365
• Strong AWS (required) and Azure cloud architecture experience; hybrid designs
• PowerShell required; Python preferred; modern automation and IaC practices
• Solid networking and security fundamentals (DNS, TCP/IP, load balancing, IAM, EDR/XDR, SIEM)
• Experience with backup/recovery, storage (SAN/NAS), patching, and system hardening
• Familiarity with AI-enabled IT operations is a plus
• Healthcare or hospital IT experience preferred
Bachelors Degree Required
