Our client in Malta, NY is looking for a Senior Level Individual to develop the Silicon Photonics platform (waveguides, modulators, photodetectors, etc.). They will drive process integration across FEOL, BEOL, device, and module teams. Interface with product line (PL) and business units (BU)—this means customer-facing tech discussions. Ensure manufacturability: yield, cost, schedule, process convergence. Lead engineers and manage technology roadmap projects. This is NOT a design role; it's hands-on fab integration + program leadership.

Required Skills & Experience
Required: Master’s + 8 years
Preferred: PhD + 7 years
- 8+ years (Master’s) OR 7+ years (PhD) in Silicon Photonics or directly relevant semiconductor photonics field
- Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Solid State Physics, or related physical science
- Hands-on experience with Silicon Photonic process development
- Experience in 300mm semiconductor fab or a comparable high-volume manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated process integration ownership (R&D → HVM)
- Experience leading or mentoring engineering teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
PhD preferred (but not required if Master’s + 8+ years is strong)
FEOL/BEOL experience specifically in Silicon Photonics
Background with:
- Waveguides
- Modulators
- Photodetectors
- Couplers
Experience with:
- Lean Manufacturing
- DOE / SPC statistical methods
- Integration in optics-rich CMOS environments
Familiarity with:
- TCAD modeling
- Lumerical / Optiwave
- Photolithography, CMP, PVD/CVD, ion implant
