Technical Business Analyst

Insight Global is seeking a technically strong Business Analyst with deep experience in dashboarding and the Microsoft ecosystem to support analytics, reporting, and scalable workflow solutions. This individual will play a critical role in enabling rapid dashboard development, translating business requirements into sustainable technical solutions, and introducing outside-the-box thinking into our client’s solution architecture. This is a high-impact role designed to empower teams while promoting scalable, enterprise-ready practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner directly with business stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into dashboards and reporting solutions using Power BI
- Design and build Power BI dashboards from scratch, establishing strong foundational data models and best practices
- Develop and experiment with Power Apps and Microsoft Power Platform solutions to support scalable workflows
- Evaluate existing dashboarding and analytical solutions and recommend improvements to data structure, architecture, and sustainability
- Create clear, thorough documentation covering requirements, architecture, workflows, and user guidance
- Provide guidance on when and how AI tools (e.g., Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini) should be applied responsibly within enterprise environments
- Assist in transforming ad-hoc or Python-heavy solutions into scalable, maintainable Microsoft-based solutions
- Collaborate closely with senior leaders across investment, finance, and accounting to communicate technical concepts clearly

- 5–10 years of experience as a Technical Business Analyst
- Strong Power BI experience, including building dashboards from the ground up
- Hands-on experience with Power Apps and the Microsoft Power Platform
- Solid data management skills and strong understanding of data best practices
- Excellent documentation skills with attention to clarity and structure
- Exceptional communication skills and comfort engaging with senior stakeholders
- Must be located in New York

- Experience working in smaller, startup-like or lean organizations
- Exposure to enterprise AI solutions; familiarity with Claude preferred
- Ability to recognize appropriate use cases for AI versus traditional solutions
- Background wearing multiple hats across analytics, workflow design, and solution delivery
