Job Description
The Construction Director will lead large-scale construction projects, providing strategic oversight and mentorship to project teams. This role requires exceptional leadership skills to develop strong, high-performing teams and ensure successful delivery of projects exceeding $1 billion in value. It will also require exceptional organizational skills to manage high-level scheduling, procurement, and coordination across multiple projects. The ideal candidate will be a proven mentor and a collaborative leader capable of managing complex operations and large workforces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic leadership and mentorship to project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence.
- Oversee all trades and ensure seamless coordination across multiple disciplines.
- Manage large-scale projects valued at $1 billion or more, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Direct and support a team of 10–12 Construction Managers, each supervising 10–12 Superintendents. (30-40 total direct reports)
- Ensure effective management of 1,000–1,500 trade staff on-site daily.
- Drive operational efficiency and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders and clients.
- Provide administrative leadership and support for project execution, ensuring alignment with overall project goals.
- Coordinate schedules, lead times, and procurement activities at a strategic level.
- Collaborate with Construction Directors and Project Managers to maintain efficient workflows.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams across multiple projects to ensure consistency and quality.
- Serve as a liaison between project teams and senior leadership, reporting progress and addressing challenges proactively.
- Maintain strong client-facing communication when required.
