Job Description

The Senior Engineer is a technical authority and project engineer for power generation systems, responsible for independent engineering decision making and capital project execution to ensure safe, reliable, and compliant plant operation. This role combines deep electrical and mechanical engineering expertise with full project ownership, including scope development, budgeting, scheduling, vendor management, and commissioning. The Senior Engineer supports steam and gas generating assets and applies engineering judgment across generators, transformers, breakers, relays, turbines, boilers, and high pressure steam systems.

The Senior Engineer partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Project Managers, and Engineering teams, supports outages and inspections, ensures compliance with applicable reliability and regulatory requirements (including NERC), and produces clear, defensible engineering documentation and technical justifications.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as technical decision maker and subject matter expert for power generation systems
• Lead capital projects from scope development through commissioning, managing schedules, budgets, and funding
• Develop and review engineering analyses, drawings, technical and purchase specifications
• Evaluate bids, review vendor submittals, and oversee contractor deliverables
• Apply electrical and mechanical engineering expertise to generators, transformers, breakers, relays, turbines, boilers, and steam systems
• Ensure compliance with regulatory, reliability, and design basis requirements (e.g., NERC)
• Support audits, inspections, outages, and field execution
• Communicate engineering decisions clearly to technical and non technical stakeholders
