Digital Content Writer

An academic health system in New York City is seeking a Digital Content Writer to join their Digital Experience team. The Digital Content Writer’s primary focus will be writing new copy or updating existing copy for two medical school websites. This person will work closely with stakeholders from the medical school to ensure their website copy and content needs are addressed. The Digital Content Writer will also be given assignments related to an ongoing website redesign project, which involves writing, editing, and reformatting existing web copy to fit the newly designed web page templates.

This role will be expected to manage a variety of tasks through our ticketing system. The Digital Content Writer will be responsible for keeping tickets updated, proactively communicating with stakeholders, and following up on open items as needed in order to meet deadlines. This position will report to the Senior Digital Content Manager for our educational websites.

· 5+ years of experience writing copy for the web

· Deep understanding of editorial process and experience following style guides, brand tone & voice, etc.

· Experience writing copy for healthcare, medical publications, or academic institutions (non-technical) a plus

· Strong stakeholder communication skills

· Professional demeanor and prompt attendance for all meetings (remote and/or in-person)

· Experience or desire to learn more about content management systems (CMS)

· Some experience or understanding of website accessibility principles and best practices

· Experience juggling multiple priorities for long-term projects as well as day-to-day website operations a plus
