Job Description

Role Summary
As a Lead Project Engineer, you will provide technical project management and direction, ensuring successful coordination of engineering activities and resolution of critical issues for assigned projects. You will act as the primary technical liaison between customers and internal teams, ensuring that design documentation and equipment meet contractual requirements while driving continuous improvement in project execution.

Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the single point of contact for all customer technical inquiries, change requests, and communications related to project scope.
• Drive lessons learned back into design engineering to prevent recurring issues.
• Provide technical guidance to Project Management and Applications Engineering teams.
• Lead customer meetings, including kick-off and design liaison sessions.
• Review contract documentation and communicate project requirements to design teams.
• Evaluate financial and schedule impacts of customer-requested changes and manage implementation through the change process.
• Resolve cross-functional design complexities and technical issues.
• Monitor engineering schedules and take proactive measures to prevent delays.
• Manage the engineering budget and provide quarterly cost estimates to Finance.
• Support engineering, manufacturing, sourcing, suppliers, and installation teams to ensure compliance with customer requirements.
• Present project status and risk mitigation plans to senior management.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering OR high school diploma/GED with 5 years of relevant experience.
Minimum 2 years of experience in Project Engineering, Design Engineering, or Field Engineering.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Customer-facing experience.
Familiarity with product lifecycle management tools.
Strong problem-solving and creative thinking skills.
Knowledge of plant system design, manufacturing, assembly, installation, and testing.
Continuous improvement mindset.
