Job Description

Overview
We are seeking a skilled Test Engineer with strong LabVIEW automation experience to join our engineering team supporting testing and validation of power conversion equipment. This role is based onsite in Schenectady, NY, and offers the opportunity to contribute to innovative test system development in a hands-on lab environment.

Responsibilities
• Design, develop, and maintain automated test systems and scripts using NI LabVIEW and TestStand for validation of power conversion equipment (inverters, converters, drives, etc.).
• Execute and analyze tests to verify hardware and software performance against design specifications.
• Develop test plans, procedures, and documentation in collaboration with design and systems engineers.
• Perform troubleshooting of test setups, instrumentation, and DUTs (Devices Under Test).
• Interface with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and power electronics equipment.
• Support continuous improvement of test processes, tools, and methodologies.
• Ensure test environments are safe, reliable, and compliant with engineering and quality standards.

Required Skills & Experience

Required:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in LabVIEW-based test automation and system integration.
• Strong understanding of electrical measurements, instrumentation, and DAQ hardware.
• Proven ability to debug test systems and troubleshoot hardware/software issues.
• Excellent communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred:
• NI Certified LabVIEW Developer (CLD) or higher certification.
• Experience with NI TestStand, PXI systems, or other NI hardware platforms.
• Familiarity with high-power test setups, electrical safety procedures, and power distribution equipment.
• Experience with scripting languages (Python, MATLAB, etc.) for data analysis or automation.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Work Environment
• Onsite role – 5 days per week at the Malta, NY facility.
• Hands-on lab work with exposure to high-power electrical systems (proper training and PPE provided).
• Collaborative engineering environment working closely with test, design, and systems teams.
