Job Description

project Overview:
Insight Global is seeking a qualified Construction Inspector to support a Lead Service Line Replacement project in Troy, NY. The project is expected to begin in September 2025 and will pause during the winter months, resuming in April 2026 through to an anticipated completion in December 2026. The inspector will oversee two contractor crews working in close proximity to ensure efficient and compliant execution of the work.


Responsibilities:
Monitor daily construction activities and ensure compliance with project specifications.
Document completed quantities of work for unit price items listed in the bid form.
Photograph pre- and post-construction conditions to verify replacement of lead service lines with copper.
Input service line replacement data into the City of Troy’s GIS database using the Survey123 mobile app.
Prepare and submit detailed daily and weekly reports on contractor progress and site conditions.
Communicate effectively with contractors, city representatives, and project stakeholders.


Compensation:

$40/hr. to $55/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

Qualifications:
Prior experience in municipal infrastructure inspection or utility replacement projects.
Familiarity with GIS systems and mobile data entry applications (e.g., Survey123).
Strong documentation and reporting skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple contractor crews.
Knowledge of construction safety standards and practices.
