Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Energy Engineer to support our energy efficiency initiatives within multi-measure affordable housing projects. This role is ideal for recent engineering graduates with internship experience in the energy field who are eager to grow in a dynamic and mission-driven environment.

The Junior Energy Engineer will primarily conduct desk-based reviews of engineering documentation, spreadsheets, and contractor submissions, while collecting and evaluating project materials such as utility bills, technical contracts, and drawings. They will assist in energy savings calculations, ROI analysis, and support energy modeling efforts using tools like eQuest and DOE2. Responsibilities also include packaging engineering reviews for subcontractors, coordinating with installer teams, interpreting Technical Reference Manuals (TRMs), and maintaining high-quality deliverables. Strong communication skills are essential for collaborating with internal teams, contractors, and clients, as well as participating in meetings and providing technical support.

Required Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
1–2 years of relevant experience (internships in energy efficiency or engineering preferred).
Strong analytical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other spreadsheet tools.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Interest in energy efficiency and sustainable design.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Familiarity with energy modeling software is a plus.
Experience in a corporate or client-facing setting is preferred.
