Job Description
The Payroll Tax Analyst is responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations. This role involves maintaining accurate tax records, coordinating with external tax service providers and the internal treasury team to ensure timely and accurate tax payments, and staying informed about legislative changes and new jurisdictions where the organization operates. The analyst will manage tax ID registrations, review and reconcile payroll tax returns, resolve tax notices, and support all phases of W-2 and 1042 year-end processing. They will also assist with tax-related matters for foreign national employees, respond to employee tax inquiries, and support both internal and external audits. Additional responsibilities include auditing employee tax records, maintaining vendor relationships, supporting system testing for tax updates, and preparing monthly tax metrics for payroll management review.

Required Skills & Experience
3+ years of hands-on payroll tax experience
Strong knowledge of payroll practices, policies, and procedures
Proficiency in data analysis with the ability to identify trends and generate insightful reports
Experience with PeopleSoft or other payroll system reporting tools
Bachelor’s degree
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
FPC or CPP certification
Understanding of foreign national taxation
