Senior Software Engineer

We’re looking for senior engineers to join our established team in the early phases of our public cloud journey. This role offers the opportunity to use modern languages and tools to deploy software in public cloud environments. Our multi-functional team spans the stack, from front ends to APIs to databases, and has all the skills and resources needed to build, ship, and operate their own software.
Key Responsibilities:
-Infrastructure Solutions: Provide sensible defaults for infrastructure to engineers, allowing for customization while ensuring security and compliance by default.
-Technical Documentation: Write documentation used by thousands of engineers to understand and use platform components for managing infrastructure.
-Developer Enablement: Accelerate time-to-value for engineering teams using tools and techniques such as developer portals and application templates to enable infrastructure provisioning in minutes.
-Testing Environments: Enable engineers to provision short-lived, ephemeral test environments for integration or performance testing in their CI/CD pipelines.

As a Senior Engineer, you will:
-Scope and lead technical projects within an engineering team, helping team members plan and execute their work.
-Directly contribute to the design and coding of our products, serving as a role model for how great software is built
-Take responsibility for the extensibility, security, scalability, and reliability of our software, ensuring it meets our SLAs.
-Drive sound technical decision-making within our group and lead technical conversations with other engineering teams.
-Coach junior team members and delegate projects that develop their skills.

-Proven experience as an engineer implementing complex software projects in various business and technology environments.
-6+ years of Software Engineering experience with Go, Java, JavaScript, or Kotlin.
-Significant experience designing systems that deliver critical business impact.
-Experience with at least one cloud provider, preferably AWS or GCP.
-Skilled in gathering and synthesizing user feedback and experience with your software.

Tech Stack Includes:
-Go, Java, and JavaScript on the server, with Kotlin and TypeScript starting to make headway
-React in the browser
-Code lives in GitHub Enterprise and flows to production through a CI/CD pipeline built on GitHub Actions
-Code runs in Kubernetes-managed Docker containers hosted in a mix of private and public clouds
-Other key tech includes GraphQL, gRPC, Kafka, Terraform, Postgres, Couchbase, Cassandra, Elasticsearch, Redis, OpenTracing, Jaeger, Prometheus, and Grafana
