Job Description

We are looking for a Sr Analytics Engineer to take part in our high-growth data efforts. This resource will play a key role in developing scalable data solutions, establishing best practices, and identifying opportunities for technological improvement. Working collaboratively with Retail team members and our cross-functional data team to build products that impact our ability to understand our product, marketing efforts, digital experience, and customers. Responsibilities:
Build and maintain scalable data pipelines that help the museum manage and analyze data effectively, ensuring our data is always clean, reliable, and ready to use
Develop data transformation and analytics infrastructure by writing performant SQL-based queries and procedures in Google BigQuery with consideration to quality, detection/enforcement and periodicity
Work to understand key business priorities to ensure all analytics product development aligns closely with core business functions and strategic initiatives
Design and implement user-facing data layer in LookML, empowering business teams to build the insights they need from our data
Ensuring high standards of data quality management are met by building practices that guarantee the integrity of data used throughout the museum
Take ownership of technical decisions, project timelines, and problem-solving with minimal guidance
Work independently on projects while keeping the team aligned on progress and key deliverables

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years of hands-on experience in data or analytics engineering, with a proven track record of building high quality data systems
Advanced proficiency in SQL (preferably BigQuery) with expensive experience in querying and transforming large datasets
Proficiency in LookML and Looker to build data models and reporting structures
Deep knowledge of data quality management and experience setting up practices that ensure data is accurate, reliable, and up to date
The ability to communicate technical details to non-technical stakeholders in a clear and accessible way
A self-starter who can work independently, manager your own projects, and make decision with limited supervision
A collaborative mindset with the ability to work well with cross-functional teams, always ready to listen, learn, and share your expertise

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience in python or other data science languages
Experience working in a growth-stage environment where flexibility and creativity are key
Experience with GIT
Experience with DBT
