Job Description

The top investor-owned energy company in the US provides a wide range of energy-related products and services to its variety of customers which include renters, residential owners, small and medium sized businesses, commercial, industrial, community affairs, and more. Operating as one of the world's largest energy delivery systems across clean energy, electric, gas and steam services.

Utility has proposed 3 pilot projects that will test the use of Utility Thermal Energy Network to generate benefits and maximize learning opportunities in four areas: emissions reduction in alignment with the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA); reduction of electric system infrastructure investments and customer costs to electrify buildings; equity and access to clean energy solutions in disadvantaged communities; and a just transition for the gas and local workforce.

Looking for a Project Manager to ensure that all required processes and tasks are implemented and executed correctly and on schedule. The main areas of focus will be the creation and management of an integrated project plan and overall project schedule. This function will be responsible for creating and maintaining the project plans through Stage 2 (pilot design) with an extension through Stage 3 (pilot construction) of the pilot projects, pending Commission approval in 2025.

Responsibilities include
Create individual project plans for each major workstream for Utility Thermal Energy Network (UTEN).
Create an integrated project plan (IPP) that illustrates dependencies and relationships between each individual project plans.
Obtain weekly input from each member of the UTEN project team on all relevant tasks in the project plan.
Monitor and update progress on a daily basis.
Report out weekly and maintain the IPP.
Create a dashboard of critical milestones which identifies schedule risks for each one. The dashboard should clearly highlight why an area might be in danger of falling behind schedule.
Assist the UTEN project team in performing critical path analysis including identification of associated risk factors and slack.
Create and maintain high-level project schedule dashboards for each of the three pilot projects
Create a high-level project schedule for all activities associated with Stakeholder Engagement and Regulatory Requirements of UTEN
Update the schedule accordingly based on updates to the project plan.
Schedule and host reoccurring meetings with the project team to discuss the project schedules and areas of risk.
Host a weekly meeting which highlights all of the critical path items that may be in danger of being completed on schedule.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years experience as a Project Manager overseeing utility, thermal energy, or district energy projects
Strong experience in Microsoft Project and using MS Project to create project plans.
Experience in creating and managing large project plans, including integrated project plans.
Very good communication skills with ability to host and manage progress meetings.
Good organizational skills
Ability to be onsite in NYC 3 days/week
