Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Guaranty Portfolio Manager to join the Guaranty Team in New York City at one of the leading international reinsurance companies. This is a permanent, full-time role in a hybrid environment 3 days a week on-site in the Financial District of Manhattan. This individual will be responsible for managing a crucial book of surety business in the North American region within the global underwriting function. This role will be production based and collaborative on a small and agile team. This individual will be driving business through client and broker interactions. Dependent on long-term performance, this individual will have high potential to lead the team.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:


Managing Existing Portfolio:
o Assist in overseeing the surety portfolio in the United States and Canada.
o Handle renewals, monitoring, and portfolio development.
Client Interaction:
o Engage with brokers and clients during industry conferences.
o Conduct client visits and perform underwriting reviews.
Risk Analysis and Collaboration:
o Analyze all surety treaty and facultative offers.
o Review and underwrite special acceptance submissions.
o Collaborate with other team leaders and product heads who sit in Miami (Latin American) and European offices.
o Provide quarterly reports on market conditions and portfolio profitability.
Risk Control and Exposure Monitoring:
o Aggregate control by principal, cedent, country, and underwriting year.
o Track exposure levels across various units to ensure tolerance limits are met.

Required Skills & Experience

7+ years of primary surety experience in underwriting in the North America market.
Effective communication and marketing skills with a client focus
English language fluency (written and oral)
Educational background in finance or economics
Proficiency in financial analytics as provided by brokers and clients including financial statements (ex: balance sheets, income statements, cash flows)
Ability to travel up to 30% of the time to attend industry conferences and client and/or broker visits
Strong familiarity with Excel, Power Point, MS Teams

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Bilingual in Spanish
Exposure to trade credit, political risk, mortgage risk and other guaranty related products
