Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an individual to fill the role of DevOps Engineer. As a member of the Production DevOps Engineering team, this individual will be responsible for designing, building, and maintaining cloud infrastructure and services that directly support broadcast production. The role will focus heavily on container orchestration (Kubernetes), infrastructure-as-code (Terraform), configuration management (Puppet), GitOps (GitHub Actions, etc). This individual will utilize container orchestration, infrastructure as-code, and GitOps tooling to enable secure and reliable provisioning of cloud-native production platforms. Contribute to the design, implementation, and maintenance of cloud-native production platforms. Design and implement CI / CD pipelines to ensure code quality/security and trigger deployments/builds as needed. Automate and configure processes to continuously improve the production environment, including self-service options for Enterprise clients. Maintain production systems by measuring and monitoring availability, latency, and overall system health.

Required Skills & Experience

* 3+ years experience designing and implementing strategic cloud-native and microservice architectures at enterprise scale, with an understanding of design principles for scalability, performance, and reliability

* 3+ years experience with Kubernetes, specifically EKS/AKS and other container orchestrator services (ECS, Fargate)

* 1-2 years experience with infrastructure as code and configuration management tools such as Terraform, Puppet, and Ansible

* Proficiency with source control repositories (GitHub, GitLab), pipelines and integrations

* Production experience with AWS/Azure platforms and core service offerings

* Experience with VDI workflows, desktop delivery, image pipelines, remote connectivity

* Experience with Linux/Windows operating system internals, debugging, and best practices

* Strong problem-solving and communication skills (presenting to executives, engagement with vendors, technical writing, documentation, etc.)

* Keen eye for information cyber security (zero-trust, machine identity, authentication, authorization, secrets abstraction)

* Proficient in at least one of the following languages: Python, Bash, PowerShell

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience with the following is highly valued:

o Helm, Kustomize, CRDs, specifically CRDs that define cloud resources

o Hiera (or other means of parameterizing specific values in code)

* Experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect, or similar role

* Experience with monitoring/alerting suites (Datadog, Cloudwatch, Grafana, Azure Monitor, etc.)

* Service mesh / service discovery

* PKI certificate management

* Understanding of software-defined-networking and service connectivity - specifically AWS Transit Gateway, Azure VWAN, Express Route, Direct Connect, routing protocols

* Ability to script routine tasks in Bash and PowerShell
