Job Description

A top Facilities Management client is looking for a Director of Facilities to sit onsite at a children's hospital in Westchester County, NY. This Director of Facilities will be responsible for the operational, maintenance, and safety of all buildings, equipment, and systems onsite at the hospital. You will be providing direction and coordination of program development for the facilities department, activities surrounding renovation/maintenance/repairs, energy management, campus planning, managing trades contractors, coordinating engineering activities, etc. You will also ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.



Due to the smaller size of this children's hospital, we are looking for someone that is comfortable wearing multiple hats in regard to construction, MEP, safety, and general strategic leadership for all departments. Other responsibilities include:

- Plans, improves, and maintains owned and leased facilities and equipment.

- Provides coordination and direction in the design, review, and specifications of construction and remodel projects with architects and administration. Monitors day to day activities and work on Engineering, Plant Operations, Aesthetics and Grounds. Provides oversight as needed for contractors and construction managers.

- Establishes and manages budgets and productivity targets.

- Ensures maintenance of physical structures, HVAC, mechanical, electrical systems, utility systems, and grounds are in operative and safe working condition at all times.

- Responsible for constant state of readiness to comply with The Joint Commission (TJC), Life Safety preparedness, OSHA, Air/ Water preparation compliance and document requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

- Proficient in safety and regulatory compliance for healthcare facilities (local, state (NY), federal regulations)

- Knowledgeable about infrastructure/MEP/construction -- will be running all retrofit/renovation construction projects

- Comfortable working in union environment with tradesmen
