Job Description

Insight Global is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer to sit FULLY REMOTE for a large streaming service. This SRE will work with a team of 15+ SRE's, Database Reliability Engineers, CI/CD engineers and managers in the larger SRE organization. This engineer will directly be joining a team of 8 on-shore engineers and 2 off-shore supporting decision sciences & data engineering teams directly reporting into the Manager of SRE. Each engineer is assigned to a specific workflow each week and is expected to work independently within a collaborative/team environment. The SRE will provide hands-on technical skills and be responsible for maintaining the cloud systems utilized to operate Direct-to-Consumer platforms to web applications. The SRE will provide a data engineer-driven approach to operations, managing infrastructure as code (managing network through readable files instead of hardware), leveraging deployment pipelines, with a focus on automation, observability, and resiliency. On the day to day, this engineer will be spending a lot of time within Terraform provisioning infrastructures, writing Helm charts from scratch, building out pipelines within Concourse, and setting up new applications and data bricks in terms of observability for the decision science teams to allow them to create dashboards. Overall, this position has a heavy focus within Kubernetes handling all Kubernetes related problems. This person must have hands-on experience with maintaining the network and infrastructure of cloud platforms. This team will be building data pipelines and ensure product launches are running smoothly. An ideal candidate will come from a data engineering role that then progressed to an SRE position.
