Job Description
One of our main banking clients is looking for a Regulatory Reporting Analyst to join their team. This team is responsible for the preparation and submission of various reports and analysis on the bank's financial operations and risk exposure, due to the Fed and for public disclosure. This person will manage the production and quality of the external reporting process, with a primary focus on quarterly reports that support the U.S. Capital Rules (Basel III). They may also contribute to other reports or data analysis for quantitative impact studies on new regulatory proposals as well. The team focuses on several different reports within risk management, liquidity, CCAR reporting, etc. but this individual will mainly be supporting the Basel Regulatory Reporting space. They will work with large data sets pulled from many areas of the business, mainly working on Microsoft Excel. It is essential that this person is highly analytical in nature and has a solid understanding of regulatory reports in general, ideally 52A, 6G, LCR, 2052A, and/or Basel III reports. This team is up against tight deadlines by the Fed, and they have daily deliverables that they must file by the end of each day. Main responsibilities include:
- Demonstrates extensive knowledge of regulatory reporting best practices and a specialized understanding with the corporate process standards.
- Develops data gathering processes and procedures, supporting analytics, and reporting controls.
- Recognized throughout the organization as the external reporting point of contact for a particular business/business partner area.
- Gathers and reports accurate and timely financial information for the entire spectrum of the reporting process to external Regulators ensuring accuracy and correctness and transforms data where needed.
- In partnership with management, establishes the regulatory reporting strategy for the business/business partner area and is accountable for ensuring the implementation of that strategy.
- Designs, builds, and drives implementation activities to develop a common end-state reporting process in support of their direct manager and the global process owners.
- Sustains the integrity of the reporting process and addresses highly complex external reporting matters associated with the process.
- Liaises with internal and external regulators to ensure compliance to prescribed standards.
- Coordinates the delivery of process documentation, training content, and will advocate for continuous improvement of work processes.
Required Skills & Experience
- 5-10 years of regulatory reporting or regulatory policy experience
- Knowledge of U.S. Capital Rules / Basel III and bank financial products
- Interested in researching regulatory policy / US government guidelines
- Experience doing risk weighted asset analysis for various types of exposure classes
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Data Science
- Microsoft Office, especially Excel (VLOOKUP's, Pivot tables, etc.)
- Professional communication and strong industry background
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience using SQL or Python for analysis
- CPA / knowledge of GAAP
- Market / operational risk background
